Glamping Advisors have proudly been commissioned by Guyana Tourism Authority to further develop the country’s hospitality offer. If you don’t know much about Guyana yet, it’s time for a change – especially if you work in tourism!
Backed by the recent discovery of oil reserves off its coast, the country’s GDP has been skyrocketing. The government is using the money wisely, basing development on a low-carbon strategy and pushing nature tourism. Not surprisingly for a country 85% covered with forest, Guyana is home to a rich variety of wildlife, and Guyana Tourism Authority’s vision is to transform the country into one of the world’s leading sustainable & ecotourism destinations. Accolades have followed suit, e.g. the recent nomination as a ‘World’s Leading Sustainable Destination’.
The next step is to move the accommodation landscape upscale by implementing noteworthy glamping operations. We are up for the challenge and thought we would share some highlights of our first site visits below.
